About Dr. Soto

With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Soto has been published in a range of studies pertaining to health care in sports and the Hispanic community. He has worked with Lexington Health’s Emergency department for more than two decades to care for patients with acute illnesses and injuries.

Background

Carlos A. Soto, MD, received his medical degree from the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He then completed his residency in family medicine at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, during which he was awarded Intern of the Year. Dr. Soto has also been recognized with an Excellence in Teaching Award for English as a second language, and he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
