Dr. Hess provides comprehensive inpatient care at Lexington Medical Center. He also oversees medical weight management at Lexington Health Weight Loss and Wellness, serving as medical director of the comprehensive nonsurgical program. In addition to patient care, he serves as medical director of Heart of Hospice, certifying and treating hospice patients for end-of-life care, and as medical director of Lexington Medical Center’s Length of Stay committee.

Dr. Hess is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and obesity medicine. He has more than 15 years of extensive experience diagnosing and treating acutely ill patients.
Background
Dr. Hess earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, and graduated with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina, where he served as chief resident. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in medical management from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management in Amherst.
