Djeunou Tchamba, MD provides inpatient mental health services at Lexington Medical Center, in addition to comprehensive care for infectious diseases.
Board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Tchamba is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
She has more than 10 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of complicated infections, such as postoperative infections, bacteremias/endocarditis, complicated urinary tract infections, prosthetic joint infections and return traveler illnesses, among others.
Graduating magna cum laude from Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Tchamba earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. She then completed her internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Dr. Tchamba most recently provided inpatient and outpatient care, including telemedicine services, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina. While there, she also served on the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Control committees.
