A member of the American Medical Association and South Carolina Medical Association, Dr. Barnes specializes in total joint arthroplasty. He has extensive experience in all aspects of diagnosing and treating problematic joints damaged by disease, injury or previous arthroplasty, including the challenges of complex and revision arthroplasty.
Background
Dr. Barnes graduated with his bachelor’s degree in biology from Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, and earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He then completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and continued his training with an adult reconstruction fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Leadership
During his training, he also submitted more than 25 presentations and publications, and he served on the UAMS Graduate Medical Education Residency Council, its Department of Orthopaedics Interview Committee and the Department of Orthopaedics Resident Education Committee.
