Dr. Carter provides care for acute illnesses and injuries at Lexington Medical Center’s Emergency department.

Expertise

Dr. Carter is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Carter enlisted in the South Carolina Army National Guard as a combat engineer. He is now commissioned as a combat medic platoon leader and battalion surgeon.

Background

Dr. Carter graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in health science from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia.
