Dr. Otersen offers a full range of child-health services, including routine checkups, vaccinations, diagnostic services and minor procedures.

Expertise

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Otersen is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association. She has extensive experience in a variety of care settings, including pediatric and neonatal intensive care, newborn nursery, pediatric acute and emergent care, and subspecialty clinics. In addition to her training, Dr. Otersen worked with a multidisciplinary team at Geisinger Health System to lead a quality initiative to improve the percentage of completed lead testing in children by 15 months of age and in those by 2 years of age. She also served on the Perinatal Center Committee and the Morbidity and Mortality Steering Committee during her residency.

Background

Dr. Otersen graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in public health and earned her medical degree from the USC School of Medicine. She then completed her pediatric residency at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, serving as chief resident.
