About Dr. Wooster

Dr. Wooster has extensive experience across the scope of vascular surgical techniques and has specialized interest in aortic pathology, cerebrovascular disease and lower extremity limb salvage.

Expertise

Throughout his training and career, Dr. Wooster has been involved in complex open and endovascular aortic repair including pioneering techniques for management of the ascending and transverse aortic arch. He also has extensive experience with management of prosthetic graft infections, multi-time repeat peripheral bypasses, advanced complex endovascular limb salvage and last-chance dialysis access creation. Dr. Wooster is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons Fellow and the Society of Vascular Surgery with certifications in vascular surgery and vascular interpretation.

He recently served as director of Aortic Surgery and associate professor of Surgery at MUSC, providing comprehensive vascular surgical care. He has published and presented nearly 100 manuscripts, abstracts, book chapters and posters, as well as led more than 100 talks, training courses and oral presentations. He has also served as a principal investigator for several clinical trials, with some beginning enrollment in the Midlands soon

Background

A South Carolina native, Dr. Wooster graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He then completed his vascular surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He continued his education with a master’s degree in business administration from Quantic University, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
